Computer Science
At Virginia Tech, the Department of Computer Science is focused on how people, software, and information are viewed from the perspective of a computing discipline. These three key elements are also the points at which the department builds collaborative linkages with other researchers, departments, and colleges. Faculty members possess rich expertise in the areas of human-computer interaction, software engineering, high performance computing, data management, mobile computing, and communications systems. Rich laboratory experience is guaranteed in all of these fields.
Each of the following programs offers in-depth exposure to the extensive body of knowledge in the computing discipline and prepares graduates for careers or further study. Both full- and part-time degree programs are offered in:
