Computer Science
At Virginia Tech, the Department of Computer Science is focused on how people, software, and information are viewed from the perspective of a computing discipline. These three key elements are also the points at which the department builds collaborative linkages with other researchers, departments, and colleges. Faculty members possess rich expertise in the areas of software engineering, high performance computing, data management, data mining, artificial intelligence, quantum computation, mobile computing, wireless communication, network security, and communications systems. Rich laboratory experience is guaranteed in all of these fields.
The Computer Science program at the NCR campus offers in-depth exposure to the extensive body of knowledge in the computing discipline and prepares graduates for careers or further study. Both full-time and part-time degree programs are offered in:
