In support of the university's Plan for a New Horizon – emphasizing the need for research and innovation to meet challenges associated with global interdependence and the needs and challenges of a data-driven society – the Office of the Vice President for the National Capital Region annually solicits proposals from Virginia Tech faculty and researchers for a limited number of meetings and events held at the Virginia Tech Research Center — Arlington (VTRC-A).
The VTRC-A's Executive Briefing Center has distinctive facilities that can accommodate a variety of meeting formats, and specialized facilities for HD videoconferencing, immersive visualization, and briefings. The facility also has excellent connectivity with fiber links to Internet2, several federal networks, and the commercial Internet. A few blocks from the Ballston Metro station, and with easy access to both Washington-Dulles and Ronald Reagan National Airports, VTRC-A is in an ideal location to host national and international meetings.
Proposals may be submitted at any time, but meetings must be scheduled to ensure that all funds will be expended within the current fiscal year. Special consideration is given to opportunities that promote the long-range goals of the university in security, resilience, health and sustainability; foster innovation; enhance collaboration with external partners; and heighten the visibility of Virginia Tech in the National Capital Region
Please review the current Call for Proposals for more information about the funding program and details for submitting a proposal.
