NCR alumni sponsor blood drives in Old Town Alexandria (April 1) and at the Northern Virginia Center, Falls Church (April 16)

Virginia Tech alumni chapters in the National Capital Region (NCR) have organized two blood drives as a tribute to those who died in the April 16 campus tragedy.

The Tuesday, April 1 drive will be held in Old Town Alexandria at the American Red Cross Alexandria Chapter, 123 North Alfred Street. The second blood drive on Wednesday, April 16, will be held at the Northern Virginia Center (NVC) at 7054 Haycock Road, Falls Church.

The hours for both are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All faculty, staff, students, and alumni are encouraged to participate in this effort to give the gift of life. Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have various illnesses. For nearly 5 million people who receive blood transfusions every year, a blood donation can make the difference between life and death.
