Kevin Leclaire, Class of '95 will address NCR graduates

Kevin Leclaire, managing director of ISDR Consulting and vice president of the Board of Directors, Virginia Tech Alumni Association, has been chosen as alumni speaker at Virginia Tech's 28th National Capital Region Commencement Ceremony.

ISDR Consulting provides Investment and Strategic Development Resources in the space, satellite, and technology sectors. Clients range from venture capital and private equity firms to large publicly traded satellite communications companies.

Over the course of his career, Leclaire has helped develop a number of both start-up and later stage venture-backed companies. Prior to joining ISDR, he was a senior associate at SpaceVest Capital (now RedShift Ventures), a venture capital firm that invests in space-related and advanced technology companies. While at SpaceVest Capital, he led and supported investment deal teams and provided support to SpaceVest Capital portfolio companies.

He also co-founded two space industry-focused "virtual think tanks" and founded a navigation software startup company. Previously, at General Electric (GE), Leclaire was a trained Six Sigma Black Belt and Technical Leadership Program graduate and a member of the GE Corporate Audit Staff.

LeClaire earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School and earned bachelor's degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Economics, with Honors, from Virginia Tech. As a student, he was recognized as the 1995 Virginia Tech Man of the Year. In April 2008, he was inducted into the Virginia Tech Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni.
